THE BRAKE LIGHTS record is ready to go! For those who haven't heard them yet, TBL is a project from Jason Jensen formerly called The Northern Lights. This record finds him back with entirely new songs. The instrumentation is incredibly thorough and multi-dimensional, adding a great deal of complexity to the pop aspects of the sound. Jason (on vocals, guitar and percussion) is accompanied by Jonah Scwartz, who plays mandolin and jew's harp, Mike Schmidt who plays bass and Jeff Riddle who plays the flute. Those who are familiar with Jason's music will agree that THE BRAKE LIGHTS is undeniably his most thoughtful and intruiging project to date. Those who aren't familiar with Jason's past projects would certainly be at a loss to not give a listen to this one. We should have the BRAKE LIGHTS CD, featuring art by our amazingly talented friend Jon Beetle, up in our store within the next couple of days. If you can't wait until then, just contact us and we will get one for you.
In other news, the I CONTROL THE DINOSAURS Pre-History CD will soon be available through Dischord Distribution. Just go to www.dischord.com and look under the "Stuff we sell" category, and then go to "Other Labels". You will find it there. Also, keep an eye out for the record in your local record store. If they don't have it, ask them to order it from Dischord. The DINOSAURS also have a somewhat new 16 minute song up on the web, and you can download it here.
As always, we have a few ideas in the works. There are rumors of a new Dr. Acula band floating around, so we'll see what happens with that.
